Brattle Principal Florin Dorobantu and Academic Advisor Graham Davis will speak at the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) Annual Conference, to be held February 24-27 in Denver, CO.

Dr. Dorobantu will speak on “The Role of Commodity Futures Markets in Mine Planning and Valuation.” He will be co-presenting with a Brattle Academic Advisor, Graham Davis, who is Professor Emeritus in the Division of Economics and Business at the Colorado School of Mines. Dr. Dorobantu and Professor Davis will review the theoretical and empirical support for different methods of forecasting metal prices and demonstrate how projections based on futures prices can be extended beyond the relatively short horizon.
