Mr. Cass has a decade of experience involving complex competition matters, with a particular focus on merger analysis of competitive effects and efficiencies.

His expertise includes supporting clients and experts in matters before the Canadian Competition Bureau and the Competition Tribunal, as well as in high-profile antitrust litigation in the US.

Prior to joining Brattle, Mr. Cass worked in merger enforcement at the Competition Bureau , where he led teams conducting complex merger reviews under the Competition Act in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, retail, and telecommunications. He was also involved in the Bureau’s policy work, authoring multiple agency submissions to the OECD Competition Committee.

Mr. Cass is recognized by Who’s Who Legal as a leading competition economist in Canada and a “future leader” globally. He is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section and is a past chair of its Economics and Law Committee.
