An investor, in a dispute before the Permanent Court of Arbitration with a State in south-east Europe, retained Mr. Harris to act as an expert. Mr. Harris prepared evidence on the damages suffered by the investor as a result of the alleged failure to return processed of copper concentrate and to repay of loans. The case involved an assessment of bankruptcies claims and the relevant firms’ ability to repay amounts at different points in time. The amounts claimed were in the order of US$100 million.
